100mb partition on disk

I just did a clean install of Windows 7, again. I have the 100mb partition on the disk. I read somewhere that the data in this partition can be merged with the main system disk and then the partition recovered. At the present time the assignment of drive letters are incremented by one keeping me confused. I would like to fix that.
