Windows 7 install ate my arrays
Hello all. I’ve had a major dilemma with a fresh Windows 7 64 bit install. Had a machine with XP 32 on a mirrored array, I created a second mirror array and did a fresh Window 7 install to that array. During the install at some point when I walked away the machine froze up on a restart, Indicating that it is “detecting Array”. The machine would not boot even from the DVD or move past this lock up. I could not even get at the System set up till I disconnected all hard drives. I finally figured out that the only way to boot is to remove the RAID capability from the HDs in the system set up. So the question is how can I rebuild/recover, or reinstate the RAID arrays if the only way the thing will boot is with RAID disabled? I know I could wipe the drives and do fresh re-installs, but would prefer a better solution. The Windows 7 likely did not fully install as it never asked for a RAID driver. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
