| | Hard drive not found The system currently boots fine from the hard drive into Win XP. When I boot from the Win 7 install DVD it fails to find the hard drive, and as far as I can tell there are no special drivers required. I'm using an IDE drive--not SATA--with a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L motherboard. I also tried to boot from the Win XP install CD, and it also fails to find the hard drives. Any suggestions? |

| | I think I found the solution. This is actually my son's (in college) system, and I discovered that he added another disk controller so he could run two IDE drives. The missing driver is for that controller. |

| | Why would he need a 2nd IDE controller? You can connect two IDE drives to the existing onboard IDE connector using a IDE cable with two connectors on it (three counting the end that plugs into the system board). |
