I've tried installing a couple times now and I keep on getting an error saying that I'm missing a driver for the DVD drive.
Thing is, I'm installing Win 7 using the DVD drive.
So I've looked for a driver for my drive (Lite-On LH-20A1S) and all I get from the Lite-On site is Firmware. I've also tried the USB/DVD Download Tool to make a bootable USB stick but that program says my .iso isn't valid.
I'm currently extracting the .iso onto a flashdrive in hopes that it will be bootable. If it works, I'll have the DVD drive unplugged when I install so as to bypass the error I get.
I'll then see if Windows will recognize the drive after installation.
nothing happened. I'm really not sure what to do here. Is there a good 3rd party program that makes an .iso into a USB bootable drive?
Right now, I have Ubuntu installed on the computer from long ago. I tried booting in XP (also installed) but I got errors. Personally, I just want to clean install something on it.
