Heelp with Install. Lenovo 3000 N200

I'm going from Vista to 7. I installed 7 and it worked without flaw, through new program installs and updates and other tasks you need to do when installing a OS. I shut it off for the night and when i tried to reboot it wouldn't recognize the Hard drive. I have to access whatsoever to the Hard drive. I tried a reinstall but that only goes so far because i have to remove the Hard drive.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Check the cabling and jumpers to make sure the connection is good. Set it as single hard drive on cable, jumpered Master. See if it shows up in BIOS under HD's.

Download and burn to CD GWScan which is best version of WD Digital Lifeguard: GWSCAN 5.12 Unzips to C:Cabs where you can find ISO to burn.

Run the full HD CD scan, then boot into Win7 DVD or Repair CD, press Shift F10 to open a Command Line, type chkdsk /f then sfc /scannow. System Repair Disc - Create

If Win7 still won't start, boot into DVD Repair console or Repair CD, accept offered repair. If fails, boot back in click through to Startup Repair to run up to 3 separate times with reboots until Win7 starts. If not, report back with exact error messages.

cheers for that i will get on it. I will report back soonest.

BIOS sees the hard drive and i have been able to install it after i installed XP again. My problem occurs when i turn the machine of for more than an hour.

p.s. can't seem to find or even begin to download off of gateway still trying to find other sources. it just hangs with this header"Index of ftp://esupport@ftp.gateway.com/pub/hardware_support/drivers/win3.x_and_dos/mass_storage/hard_drives/GWSCAN512.exe/" five minutes and counting.

Try this: Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

Also run chkdsk /r from the Win7 DVD Repair console or Repair CD Command Line. Boot, press Shift F10 in first screen, type chkdsk /r in box. Watch results closely and get a camera snap if possible.

If you're laptop is within a year, you still have hardware warranty and tech support to help you troubleshoot.
