Low volume for MKV playback in WMC, please help

I need some help here. I have been trying to figure this out since Windows 7 came out.

When I play MKV files with WMC the volume is insanely low, you have to struggle to hear it. When I open the same files with Media Player, the volume is fine.

I have tried different codecs with no success and I believe I have uninstalled everything except for the Divx codec which it seems I need for the MKVs to play smoothly.

What can I do to fix this volume issue? Thanks.

Volume is slightly lower in WMC compared to WMP for some reason for me as well. But it isn't that much lower.

You can use DIVX if you choose. Seems to work for alot people, or many prefer it.
I didnt like it because it doesnt always work right for all files or players.

I use Shark 007 codec pack ((Haali spliiter FFDShow & AC3 filter)) for MKV. In the 64bit configuration for AC3 filter, I just bump the gain up slightly to compensate.

Same with FFDshow audio for those that use AAC, just bump up the output volume about 5-10%.

Im not sure about DIVX, but it may (or at least should) have a similar feature somewhere.

You just want to adjust the 64bit side of things however, not the 32bit side.

Thanks a lot. Shark007 worked, Divx didn't have any audio settings that I could find.
