Media Center doesn't work on external TV?

I reloaded my laptop today with W7 RC, official from MS' site. I'm using 64bit version.

I noticed a strange issue with Media Center. First, I'm connected to my 1080p tv via hdmi from my laptop which works fine.

My nvidia settings is laptop = primary and tv = extended (not cloned).

Now, I'll start up media center and it plays the dvd or video file fine. If I drag the window to the extended area (tv), it blanks out completely and stops playing. As soon as I drag it back to my laptop screen (primary), it starts again.

I'm using the default nvidia driver provided via windows update (wddm 1.1x??) version.

    Anyone replicate this?

    Still having this problem.

    Anyone else replicate this?

I uninstalled the nvidia drivers, rebooted, reinstalled via windows update and still same issue.

    This is how it happens:

    1. Close laptop lid, screen replicates to Sharp tv via hdmi connection
    2. Press start/go on my mce remote
    3. click watch dvd option
    4. blank output, nothing happens

however, if I open my laptop lid, the dvd starts playing. If I close it, it stops playing. Some kind of conflict, and yet it was working fine most of the time. I did not modify anything on the o/s at all either, which is even more strange.
