Media Player Window Size Whenever I play a video file (.wmv, mpg, etc) or audio (.mp3), MP starts out at the last size it "remembered." But when it opens the file and starts playing it, the window gets really small, like a default size and makes it difficult and annoying to re-size it to an appropriate size. Most annoying is MP becomes smaller such that the volume control on it disappears to just being a toggle for mute.
Is there any way to change the default size of MP? | My System Specs |

I've noticed that as well, it's the now playing view. If I find a way to disable it popping into that view I'll let you know, for now I've just been using the hot key Ctrl + 1 to jump quickly back into the library view. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number fakeasdf (c) OS Win 7 Pro x64 x 3, Win 7 Pro x86, Ubuntu 9.04 CPU 2 x C2D E8600@3.33 Ghz, C2D T8300@2.4 ghz, P4 @ 3.0 ghz, Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3P LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Dynamic Energy S Memory 2x8 GB Corsair, 4GB Kingston, 2GB GSkill Graphics Card ATI Radeon 4670 1 GB DDR3, 2600 Pro, 2400 Pro, Intel 965 Sound Card I don't care... Did anybody find out a solution already?
This small default size of the Media Player's window really sucks.... especially with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200.
It's about the size of 50% of a standard video, although my MP settings for the video size are "200%" and "fit video to player on resize"
Thanks for any hints | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number IBM / Lenovo Thinkpad T61p OS Vista Ultimate / soon Windows 7 Ultimate Screen Resolution 1600 x 1200 Mouse cute Other Info In my household there are so many computers around, there's no chance to list all of them here :-) |

Sure that's possible. But it has nothing to do with the problem...
If I start the MP without a movie, it starts with the Library view which seems to be okay.
But everytime I start MP with a click on a movie (what I usually do, for example with a click on a *.avi) it opens with the Playing View in a very small window. It doesen't remember the last size or position. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number IBM / Lenovo Thinkpad T61p OS Vista Ultimate / soon Windows 7 Ultimate Screen Resolution 1600 x 1200 Mouse cute Other Info In my household there are so many computers around, there's no chance to list all of them here :-) |

Force Media Player To Remember Window Size Media Player opens in the "Library" window. When it plays a file it switches to the "Now Playing" window.
I've found that you can force Media Player to remember the "Now Playing" window size with the following procedure.
Start Media Player. Switch to the "Now Playing" window using View or (Cntrl + 3). Resize the 'Now Playing" window by dragging its borders. Then switch back to the "Library" window and close media player.
The next time Media player opens it will remember the "Now Playing" window size.
The video option "Fit Video To Player On Resize" should be selected when playing videos.
Good Luck. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 (64) CPU 720QM I7 (Intel) Memory 4GB |

3doginc's suggestion is good, but needs one more step. 3doginc typed: Switch to the "Now Playing" window using View or (Cntrl + 3). Resize the 'Now Playing" window by dragging its borders. Then switch back to the "Library" window and close media player.
The next time Media player opens it will remember the "Now Playing" window size." The video option "Fit Video To Player On Resize" should be selected when playing videos.
Add this step: Click OFF "Fit Player to Video"... Click 100%.
Now, you should be able to size MP window any way you wish. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 CPU Intel Dual Core 6600 Motherboard Asus P5B Deluxe Wifi Memory 8 GB Kingston Hyper X DDR2 RAM Graphics Card ATI Radeon X1900 Sound Card SoundBlaster Extreme Monitor(s) Displays Dual HP w2207h Hard Drives Dual Seagate 250 GB SATA
