media center can't find TV tuner I was watching live TV on media center with no problems until I installed a new Logitech webcam (HD Pro C910).
Now whenever I open media center and click on 'live tv' it says it can't find a tuner.
The TV card is recognised in device manager.
Any ideas?
Thanks! | My System Specs |

I would reinstall the driver of the TV card. That might have been corrupted during the webcam installation. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

no good I tried both ...
I went to update the TV card driver and was told "Windows has determined that your driver is up to date".
I tried ending the process ehrecvr, got a window saying that ending it could damage the system, but clicked end process just the same, but it didn't end! I tried several times, but no luck.
Media Center still can't find the tuner!
Thanks anyway for the advice. Obviously no more watching TV on the computer for me. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number pcdoctor OS windows7 Memory 2G Monitor(s) Displays iiyama ProLite B2403WS Hard Drives internal 250GB

Thanks anyway for the advice. Obviously no more watching TV on the computer for me. There's a troubleshooter in control panel, you could try that or go through the set-up again. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq sr5410f case OS Windows 7 Pro 64 SP1 CPU AMD X2 4450E @ 2.3 ghz Motherboard Biostar MCP6P M2+ Memory 4.0 g Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT , 512mb Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays auria eq2367 Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard logitech wave cordless Mouse logitech LX8 cordless laser mouse PSU 250 watts Case Compaq Cooling couple fans Hard Drives 1 tb Hitachi HDT721010SLA scsi, 500 gb external Internet Speed comcast hi speed 19 dn 8 up Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Browser IE10 Other Info Laptop specs: HP g7-1365dx /

Quote: "Windows has determined that your driver is up to date". That usually does not mean anything. I would uninstall the driver and reboot or install the latest driver myself. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

I receive that "Can't find the TV tuner" message on occasion. It's usually after the power has been off and the computer is turned back on. After I click on "restart", Media Center usually finds the TV tuner again. From what I have read elsewhere, sometimes there is not enough power to load all of the drivers during a hard restart, and the TV tuner driver fails to load properly.
This may not have anything to do with your situation, but I thought I would post it here in case it helps you or someone else struggling with a TV tuner which has suddenly gone missing. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Lenovo IdeaCentre B500 OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit CPU Intel Core2Quad Q8400S 2.66 GHz Memory 4 GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250M Sound Card Lenovo USB2.0 Audio; Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays All-in-one -- Generic PnP Monitor Hard Drives ST31000528AS ATA Device -- 1 TB |

Solution would appear to be - start media centre with the camera unplugged from the usb port. The tuner will then be found. The camera can then be plugged in. The tuner will continue to work and the camera also works. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 media center can't find TV tuner problems? All times are GMT -5.
