media center can't find TV tuner

I was watching live TV on media center with no problems until I installed a new Logitech webcam (HD Pro C910).

Now whenever I open media center and click on 'live tv' it says it can't find a tuner.

The TV card is recognised in device manager.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I would reinstall the driver of the TV card. That might have been corrupted during the webcam installation.

    no good

    I tried both ...

I went to update the TV card driver and was told "Windows has determined that your driver is up to date".

I tried ending the process ehrecvr, got a window saying that ending it could damage the system, but clicked end process just the same, but it didn't end! I tried several times, but no luck.

Media Center still can't find the tuner!

Thanks anyway for the advice. Obviously no more watching TV on the computer for me.

There's a troubleshooter in control panel, you could try that or go through the set-up again.

"Windows has determined that your driver is up to date".
That usually does not mean anything. I would uninstall the driver and reboot or install the latest driver myself.

I receive that "Can't find the TV tuner" message on occasion. It's usually after the power has been off and the computer is turned back on. After I click on "restart", Media Center usually finds the TV tuner again. From what I have read elsewhere, sometimes there is not enough power to load all of the drivers during a hard restart, and the TV tuner driver fails to load properly.

This may not have anything to do with your situation, but I thought I would post it here in case it helps you or someone else struggling with a TV tuner which has suddenly gone missing.

I've had this happen several time's and tried different thing's but no success --then I fixed it by doing a 'systems restore' then it all works fine again

Solution would appear to be - start media centre with the camera unplugged from the usb port. The tuner will then be found. The camera can then be plugged in. The tuner will continue to work and the camera also works.
