    Media Center remote not working?

I just got back to college and my remote does not work (it did not work at home either, but did work in May before I left college). I closed "Ir.exe" in Windows Task Manager, but I cannot find it anywhere to restart it, and the remote wasn't working before I ended the process.

Please help me get the remote working again.

The model # of the remote is RRS9002-86XXF and came with Hauppauge WinTV HVR-2250

See if this helps you with that,

I can give you the IR32 folder off of my disk if you can't find yours.

Okay. I just restarted my computer and the Ir.exe application did start up, but the remote still does not function, so maybe I can reinstall it. I did not bring my CD to college with me (oops).

I'm sure you've also tried replacing the batteries, ( I just had to ask that), Here's

the support page for your model tuner and remote,

    WinTV-HVR-2250 Support page

Look under the accessories tab for the IR software.

You might find some help for your other thread about the guide listings too.

So what have you tried? Do you have the sensor hooked up?

the cord that is attached to the sensor. There is one cord, but it splits into 2: 1 for the sensor, the other leads to a red "light." If the light is on, I know the remote works. So far, the light has not been lit.

Not on the remote, coming out of the PC

I also highly doubt that it's the remote causing the problem. It is something hardware-related.
