Yammm - Yet Another Media Meta Manager

I have just stumbled upon this handy utility called Yammm (Yet Another Media Meta Manager)which downloads meta information and images about all sorts of movie files on your HD. It actively monitors particular folders (in my case My Videos\Movies) for new directories (i've got 'The Unborn', which it renamed automatically to 'The Unborn (2009)').

The movie information is then recognised by Media Center in the Movie Library and the poster & info is added.

       Information

Special thanks goes to mikinho, without whom the app would not be available.

Orbital Shark- Thanks for mentioning Yammm here. Just wanted to mention that I added the automatic image resize option to Yammm.

    Thanks again for the suggestion.

    Update:
The creator, mikinho had updated the software with more new features.

Significantly (for me anyway) Artwork Resize so the app automatically resizes the folder.jpg file to your specifications. This means that Media Center uses less memory when rendering the artwork.

thanks for the heads up orbital... i get to fool around with the MC for about an hour or so a day if i'm lucky Making a little progress, and i believe this lil app will help alot along the way once i get things rolling, or figure out exactly how i want to setup and run the media throughout the house. Just havent made a complete decision on which way and how to go about things. Once i do, then i have the task of taking off of physical media and putting on hdd, thats just an issue of will power , time and more hdd space, hehe.

mkinho, if you could please, i recognize a few others have requested this, i will just add my name to the list. Please, please, work on ratings editor, be it the star or parental. Parental preferrably, but both would be nice. I'm still undecided as to how to filter content throughout here with a wide range of "eyes"/age group... from disney and scooby doo to "eyes wide shut"

Certainly would greatly appreciate any work towards this. If only MS would work better with the editing of the parental ratings, this may be easier on a fella. So i've had to search around for a possible plugin to filter such content and deciding how or what is going to be the main player of media throughout the network, besides using the MC thru the extender.

    Digger,

I believe that this list is what he's working on at the minute & is working towards a major release

I'm still testing the below before releasing a "major" update

    1- MCML for changing artwork
    2- TV series support
3- "Undo" feature via logging. The Activity and Events ta will be active when I have this done
    4- Artwork overlays
    5- Fix for BIN\CUE integrity
6- Real webpage fore release notes and tracking
But, you never know, parental ratings may be done too

I've added the MPAA rating. I'll be publising it later today. I just need to add a feature so that it updates existing metadata. As it is right now it will only replace metadata created via Yammm. I did this so that people who have previously customized their metadata would not have it overwritten.

    ah, Thank You!

i also had that concern about the overwriting of... since i'm experimenting with who what where i get the info from and so on... but as of now im just testing out on a test dir.

Is there possibly a way to include the use of a "." AND "-" in the title to be recognized as just a "space" in the title? Just wondering as this is how i uniformally have named 90% of digital titles. Like so this.is.the.movie - (year) would be an example of how both characters have been used. so instead of renaming thousands of files, (if only you could do this for mp3 as well), lol, you would save my legs from severe blood loss while sitting forever editing one by one.

I'm very eager awaiting this next release, thanks for the additions :)
