Windows 7 - Pls Help: cant open other windows if wmp is open

I am encountering this very annoying problem since I installed win 7.
If the windows media player is open, the other windows (such as internet explorer or other folders) wont open until I minimize the windows media player. They will be hidden behind windows media player and when I minimize the player, they will show up.
This doesnt happen when I have any other windows open. for example, if i have internet explorer maximized, i can open any other folder. but, if i have windows media player maximized, i cannot open any other folders without minimizing wmp.

Welcome to Seven Forums
Right-click the Menu Pane in WMP>Tools>Options>Under Player Tab> Make sure that "Keep Now Playing on top of other windows" is unchecked

The other option is of course - alt+tab
