Now WMC Has Lost ch - + .. What Next?

I'm beginning to think that whatever "improvements" Microsoft are supposed to have included in Windows 7's WMC should be taken back to the drawing board.

When it can detect the tuner, which is always a hit & miss operation, I now can't flip up or down channels without going back to the guide. I give up!

    Hi Peter,

Is there anything in the registry that might help you, look in

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center

I'm looking now so i'll post if i see anything that might help.

Update: in Settings\Video Settings there are some channel options but i don't watch TV so I can't really test the settings

Guess what? They are in fact there, but for some reason when I'm using the default display setting they don't show, when I expand to full screen they magically appear...LOL

Never though of doing that before. I usually have it in the top right-hand corner of my screen and it usually shows those buttons OK.
No idea what has changed to cause it....!

I might add that it's reverted to its usual bolshie behaviour. I got the first channel I picked from the TV Guide, but can't tune up or down anyway as it says "Channel Not Available".
If I close and reopen WMC then use the guide I can go to whatever channel assuming it finds the tuner in the first place.

It really is a mess in Windows 7 or at least it is when using a TV Wonder 650 PCI card and Vista drivers. There aren't any Win 7 ones.

    Thanks for your help.

I keep WMC as a small window, and the channel -+ buttons don't show.. have to enlarge the window. But, I just use the - & + keys on the keyboard keypad to change the channels.
