    WMP12 at Start Up

Win7 64 Ult...I have looked in Start, msconfig, and WMP12 Options, and I can't find out how to stop WMP from starting up with Windows. Please, any ideas?

When you say WMP starting up with Windows, do you mean that when you login to Windows, the WMP 12 Window shows up as if you opened it? Additionally, as far as msconfig goes, I would suggest going to the "Startup" tab and disabling all the start-up programs to see if this stops WMP from launching.

Type services.msc in the start search box. click on the "services" gear. When the window opens, scroll down to Windows Media Center (there are 2), right click, choose Properties and set both to 'manual'.

I am going to try them all, one at a time, until something works. I was just looking to get any and all ideas before I tried.

    Jacee,

Both of the Windows Media Centers are set to manual, but the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is set at 'automatic'. Could that be the issue?

Services shouldn't be starting applications, so setting them to manual won't stop wherever the application is being opened. Is it not in the msconfig Startup tab?

That shouldn't be it. All that does is allow you to share files from WMP to compatible devices and other Windows PCs but it shouldn't start Windows Media Player up.
