Problems setting up Live TV on Windows Media Center

Hi,

I seem to be having lots of problems trying to setup LiveTV on WMC - It is just problem after problem.

So here is the setup, I have an all in one computer (Lenovo Ideacenter A700) which has a built-in TV tuner ( T507 tuner). I have RCN Cable in NY and have a full digital set top box in the main room which is connected to a HD tv - this works no problem. I actually used HDMI cables from the set top box to the TV. I used to have a regular TV (not HD TV) so had a small Motorola set top box in my room, which just has a power on and off button (no display) and it's own RCN remote control. I am now trying to use the Lenovo computer to replace my T, and so plugged the cable from the back of the TV in to the computer. I then tried to run the LiveTV setup and encounter many problems. It seems that the automatic setup doesn't work well at all, so I then tried the manual setup choosing, cable, set-top box and then trying to configure the Windows remote (that came with the Lenovo computer) to change channels on the computer.

When I run the remote control configuration, it runs and I press '1' and 'OK' button and then it says it finds my remote, but then when I try to use the windows remote to change channel on the computer it doesn't work....I can press a new channel and the Info page for that channel comes up but it stays on the same channel.
However, I know that all the channels are there, as I can use the old RCN remote and face it towards the Motorola set top box and I can bring up the guide and change channels that way. However, that is not going through the Windows Media Center channel listing and will not allow me to record channels correctly.

I am not sure if this is connected but the channel guide on the WMC has all the correct channels listed, and has the correct time and date, but the programs listed aren't actually the correct programs. When installing the channel update I did put in the correct zipcode etc.

If anyone has any useful information that may help me getting this sorted it would be great.

Thanks!
AF
