    WMP 12 DVD audio failure

I did run into a small surprise on an older system that required me to download the audio drivers from MS update. The audiochip is made by VIA.

WMP12 doesn't play the audio when viewing a DVD movie, but when I use Media Center, then everything works.

Any advice on how to reinstall/enable the needed audio codec into WMP12 ?
I tried to disable/enable WMP12, but this didn't solve it, neither does changing the settings for filetypes etc connected to WMP.

Try doing this in sound properties. Switching to DVD quality 48000Hz sometimes helps with this problem.

Thanks for the tip, but in my case it didn't help.
