Windows 7: Issue with windows media center

Issue with windows media center

hi, because some mistake all the *.exe files in my system are opening using windows media centre, programs like internet explorer and firefox also. how to change the settings so that these *.exe files get opened normally without WMC. please help needed in this issue.

Thank you for replying.
i have downloaded the .exe file from the link you mentioned. but this is also not opening in normal way. i mean it is opening through windows media center. so looks like i need to reinstall the OS. is there any other way?

Just to confirm, you downloaded the .reg file that should restore to default opening of .exe files, unzipped it, right click on it and choose merge, right?

EDIT: all .exe files open with media centre,no matter what i click media centre opens help please
