7MC not recognising .vob files; WMP 12 does !
I have a large collection of digicam video clips as .vob files - converted from .mov to .vob so that I can write miniDVDs on a CD or a full DVD. I also have a number of music tracks as .vob files so that I can play individual tracks as I please.
These .vob files can be added to the WMP12 Video library which can play these too. No problems.
However, 7MC does not recognise and play these. While the 7MC video library does show the folder containing these .vob files, there is nothing inside and it proclaims that there are no items in it or there are no valid video files to play. duhhh.....
While dabbling with Vista MC years back, I did find a workaround for it. Simply rename the .vob extension to .mpg. VMC or 7MC will tuck their tail, include these in the video library and play these to one's heart's content.
Isn't this quirky? Now my question is: Is there any registry modification that can make 7MC recognise the .vob files as such and play without renaming them as .mpg?
