xbox360 playback "jerky"

Hi All,

Been looking through some threads here on similar issues, but can't seem to find a "fix" - just a lot of suggestions to do with network etc.

My issue is when I playback video through the xbox 360 using media centre, the playback is quite jerky. Also, at least once during say a 20 minute tv shows the video will pause once for around 8 seconds, but then continue back to how it was. Audio doesn't look sync after the long pause.

Sound isn't jerky or out of sync at any stage, but the video just does lots of little skips - quite noticeable on action scenes.

My setup is a wired cable running through a router from my PC to my xbox 360. All tests appear just fine.

Playback was fine on my xbox 360 for years when I was running windows XP, the issue only started when I upgraded to windows 7. My PC hardware is more than capable of handling the streaming side of things.

Any suggestions on what it could be?

Installation of the Win7codecs will most likely fix your problem.
