    DVD colors washed out.

My internal DVD colors are washed out on my HTPC. I have a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I have a Samsung internal Blu-Ray player and standard DVD player. Have Sharky007 Codecs loaded. All video play back is good in WMC, but regular DVD is washed out, don't own any Blu-Ray yet. Have loaded Blu-Ray player software and it is still washed out with that too. BUT if I boot on my other drive, WinXP32, the DVD is not washed out and looks really good.

A 720p MKV files look great on both OS's

    Video Card: Sapphire HD5450
    Monitor/TV: LG 47LD520

    Anyone have this problem?

Yes, I have noticed some DVDs have a slightly washed out color to them as well when using the Win7 players.

I usually rip all mine to MP4 or MKV files, either as a compressed file or sometimes untouched. I find the picture quality just looks better on the PC.
It resolves the washed out look.
I also prefer this method using librarys VS swapping DVDs in and out.

As for you initial question however, you may try adjusting the color settings in your player, or through your Graphics card. (The AVIVO Video setting in Catalyst for ATI cards)

I found setting the player to use Hardware Acceleration, and then making a few tweaks in AVIVO solved DVD playback (washed out) issues for me.
    This would be my recommendation.

I use NeroShowtime as my default movie player for files and DVD alike however, so Im not exactly sure if this helps with other Players.

Well I fixed it.....ATI software shipped with my Sappire HD5450 was 10.7 I rolled the software back to 10.2 and everything is correct. I borrowed a Blu-Ray from a friend and the res and images colors are the same out of the Blu-Ray player and the internal Blu-Ray on the HTPC.
