Vizio sees all channels but HP USB tuner doesn't.

Anybody out there have an idea why my HP USB tuner can't find all the clear QAM channels when I use it in Windows Media Center on my new HP laptop using Windows 7? My new Vizio can see them fine. I've updated all drivers, etc.
If it helps the Vizio lists the channel as 708, 709, etc. and the channels the HP tuner can find are all 1008.709, 1008.707, etc. 709 on the Vizio doesn't even match up to 1008.709 in Windows Media Center.

I don't pay for cable but am using the cable from the wall to get my channels. I only get the major networks on the Vizio and have tried all the different cable settings in WMC.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks!

On the Vizio, is there anything on 1008.709?

No. It says channel is unavailable for "1008-709" (it doesn't have a decimal point on the remote). Just entering "1008" gives me the same message.

I just spent 2 hours on the phone with HP support and they didn't really have an answer either. I want channels 705-711 that my TV gets but all I can manage through the tuner is the channels that correspond to 705, 708, and 709. Its especially weird that it can't find 706 or 707 considering it can find 705 and 709.

If your USB tuner has an option for "auto scan" or "auto program" (same with your TV) give that a whirl.

Where I live, we have a news station on 4 and 4.1 (HD). For some reason it disappeared for a while and it wasn't until I ran auto-program on my TV that it came back.
