what codec pack are you using , the sub file should be placed in the same folder as the movie and have the exact name of the movie on the sub file.

    thanks for your reply.

Not sure what codec I am using. Could check when I get home. Would that matter? The sub files are on the same folder indeed

I have found that with VLC media player it is very easy to incorporate subtitles. On the menu list on the top you go to Video->SubtitlesTrack->Load, then just browse for the subtitles file.

How to do that with WMC7/WMP is what I do not know

    cheers

Install the Shark007 Win7codecs and all of your subtitles will work as expected in the Windows players.

    Hi again,

I have installed shark007. Thanks for all the great work shark, it works great for my AVI files with srt subtitle files!!!

I still have a few questions about it.:

For a movie in .mp4 format, VLC shows the subtitles. However, WMC/WMP does not show them at all. In this case, the subtitles were in idx and sub format (not sure if that is important)
Is there a parameter that has to be tweaked in Shark007?

    isos of ripped DVD
Can you add subtitles to DVD isos?

AVI s with sub/idx subtitles files
with VLC I can easily switch between languages
With WMP there is a sub language by default that can not be changed
With WMC I cannot see any subtitles at all

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!!!

On the SWAP TAB, disable the Microsoft Video decoder.
