    Media Center will not update


    hello, i am trying to update windows media center so that i can get internet tv on my computer.. i have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and have made sure windows is up to date on updates.. my firewall is off and have double checked to make sure.

    when i go into:

    Tasks
    Settings
    General
    Automatic Download Options
    and click the Download now button

    I keep getting the error message....
    the guide could not be downloaded...right click the windows media center system tray for more info..

    1. cannot find the windows media center system tray
    2. anyone know how to fix this problem.. please help

    yes, time and date are both correct.. well according to my droid incredible..

    after i download that update and open it, i get the message.. update is not applicable for your system....i think im just going to give up on this one because i honestly cant imagine why nothing works besides its a problem on windows end..

    3 things you can do (i had similar situation)
    1- copy ehome library from another win7 pc
    2-run sfc /scannow
    3- remove media center (untick it) from turn windows features on or off ->reboot->reinstall (tick it) MC again

    ok, i finally figured out what the problem was...apparently my region was set wrong on my machine... i had it set for english and it wanted english(canada) idk but it works now..

    so just go into control panel and change your region to english(canada) and you should be good to go.. i hope this helps cause it took me forever to figure this out..dumb imo tho
