So I bought a new pc and decided to use my old one as a media center. I had two tuners hooked up to windows 7. Both are hybrid tuners and allow for both digital and analog signals. I thought they worked perfectly until I noticed that that when I was recording and analog signal I could not watch another analog signal on the other tuner (digital worked fine).
Windows 7 would eventually say I had a low bit rate. Reading up on this I ran the two updates provided and it said they did not apply.... so I used the cmd prompt and installed them that way..... it didn't help.
Frustrated I plugged both tuners into my other laptop and they worked perfectly. Reading some more I found that this was a problem specific to windows 7. I formatted and went back to vista the original os on my old machine.... and yep, no help this time it said that the second signal was weak.... and would not load two analog signals at the same time. I have tried literally everything I can think of.
The old machine is a gateway p-7811fx.
Yes I have unistalled
drivers, yes I have installed both drivers from avertmedia. Yes I had disabled windows auto
driver install... The avert drivers actually take me back a step since it only allows the tuners to read analog signals (and still one at a time).
I would like to think I am pretty PC savvy but I at the end of the line here. Any help would be awesome.
Thank you,
Andrew
