    Toshiba built-in PAUSE/PLAY/SKIP buttons

    Hey,

I was just wondering if anyway knew how to make the built-it PAUSE/PLAY/SKIP buttons on my Toshiba P300 work with iTunes instead of WMP. My OS is Windows 7 64bit, if that matters.

The buttons are the white lights above the keyboard.

    Thanks,
    Aaron.

is Itunes your default media player? the buttons should work for the default media player automatically. but see below:

if i remember correctly... Itunes only accepts Media button's (PLAY/PAUSE/SKIP) if the window is open and it is the active window (ie the one on top) i could be wrong though, or they could have fixed it by now

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes it is my default media player, and it does only work if iTunes if the active program. I was just hoping it would work if it was minimized or something like that. What a shame.

    Thanks,
    Aaron.

unfortunately this is a limitation of itunes and not something that can really be fixed (unless you happen to work for apple of course....)

this is one of the reasons why since windows 7 and WMP12 came out i dont use Itunes, I can see no point, the only reason for using it before was because WMP didnt play mp4. unless of course you buy things from Itunes store

    Hello,

That's a bummer then. I also have an iPhone so it's easier for me to just use iTunes, otherwise I would be using WMP12. Thanks for all your help mate.

    Cheers,
    Aaron.

Can't you set it to "always on top? Then move it out of the way?

Edit: I'm not sure if this will work but wortha quick try.

    Hey,

I don't think so, then I can't type and stuff on other windows, because iTunes would still be the active window. I've already though of that idea. :)

    Cheers,
    Aaron.
