How can i play Blu ray disks? Any open source players?

I got a new blu ray drive but the powerdvd trial ran out and Cyberlink wants me to buy some software that costs more than what i paid for the drive. Is there any free software out there i can get quick so i can watch transformers 2 tonight? The movie has to be back tomorrow.

If you load the FREE DVDFab HD Decrypter, then MPC-Homecinema can play the movie only. There will not be any menu's ect. To open the blu-ray within this player go to File - Open DVD and select the Blu-ray drive.

One other way is to convert the main movie to mkv. (Download MakeMKV from MakeMKV - Make MKV from Blu-ray and DVD - All features (including Blu-ray decryption and processing) are free during BETA ). Install Shark007 Codecs to play mkv files with WMP/WMC .

While purchasing the blu-ray drive itself one should check that it comes bundled with blu-ray player software so that he/she need not go through this exercise.

In any case, since you have purchased a blu-ray drive, you should plan to get Power DVD 10 Ultra 3D Mark II which at the moment is the ruling king. ( Tip: I bought it from Major Geeks http://store.majorgeeks.com/ where it is a little less than direct Cyberlink store price. Keep this in mind whenever you decide to go for it. It is genuine with direct download and key from Cyberlink.)

It would still be in blu ray quality right?

It did come with software but the key they provided was invaild and they wouldn't give me and new one, im tired of dealing with them so i just said screw it.

Thanks for the link. Im might buy it since ive already spend the money and a 1080p monitor and disk drive might as well have a good player to go along with it
