Do a restore back a few days ago to when it was working.
It may have been caused by something you download that caused the problem.

You may want to re-download your sound card drivers and re-install to see if that helps

My sound works fine in everything except Windows media player. I had Sony Camcorder, Logiteck Video Cam, HP Video Cam and some old stuff and they all played on Windows media Player and now none of them will. So I had to go to 3 different players to get all my stuff to be played. So how can Windows media player to play all my stuff again or any player to play everything I have?

Installation of the Shark007 Win7codecs will make all media files playable in the Windows supplied players.
