I use media center usb receivers with Logitech 880 remotes on two different pc's with HVR2250 TV tuner card and there is a little red light that you can just barely see in daylight when you send a command. Hope you remote works good for you looks like the same receiver as i am using that came with the cards. Love my remotes can do alot of things with it in Media center.

Thanks for the info. After a quick perusal of the user reviews this is the fact-sheet.

The remote as well as the IR receiver is not of the original Microsoft design but distinctly different. So I may not be able to compare it with the performance of the original Microsoft remote and ehome IR receiver which had the sleep/resume problems.

Since this is different (just like the EZ Commander remote plus its own IR receiver)you may not experience any sleep/resume problems. Most users have found that the remote functions well and they are happy. It also seems to have some additional functions like a rudimentary mousing which is not there in the Microsoft MCE remote. Overall you seem to have made a good buy considering that it costs only $16.

One serious drawback some users have found is that the IR receiver does not work with Logitech Harmony Remote since this remote is not in the Logitech's Hardware data. So if one wants to control the PC and other connected equipement like TV and AV amp when MC is switched on, that will not be possiblle with this IR receiver. How successfully the Harmony can be manually taught, I do not know. ( My ehome IR receiver - though had problems with the Microsoft remote - functions well with my Harmony remote. No sleep/resume problems and when I switch my MC it will automatically switch on the AV amp and TV, select the source inputs for both and all is set with just one/two button press. When I got my Harmony, I threw away my Microsoft remote- disgusted with it for life.)
