    Play TV on my laptop

I have a tv tuner inside my laptop and the only way I know how to access it is through media center. Are there any other programs that I can use to access to play TV channels through my computer?

Why? Isn't Windows Media Center not doing too well for you in watching live TV or its TV functionality not functioning at all? You gonna have to specify your TV tuner's model. Did it came when you bought that laptop or was it later installed?

The TV tuner I had which is PlusTV Analog Lite PCI (PVR-TV 7134) did not come when I first had this PC, it was later added. Mine came with a driver CD and that CD also has the installer for HyperMedia Center which is a program intended for watching TV but I assume its of course made and designed for the TV Tuner brand I have. Anyway, I didn't like it so I decided to use Windows Media Center for watching TV from that moment to today.

So if you have any setup CD for that TV Tuner you have, you can perhaps browse that CD for any software that can make you watch live TV. Or maybe there's already a program in you computer.

The type of TV Tuner that I have is a AverMedia H339 Hybrid Analog/ATSC/QAM and your right I should of mentioned this as well. Windows Media Center is working fine, but I'm just wondering if there is something out there that is better and with more options.

    Thanks.

I think you need to figure out what it is you want/need to get out of it and then look at the options and what they offer. For example, do you care about extenders? Do you want to share recorded TV with other devices? Do you want to use your iphone as a remote, or watch TV on your mobile? Others I have looked at and used are BeyondTV, and WinTV. BeyondTV is pretty nice, but not worth $100. WMC is pretty good for free and I can use my xbox as an extender. I don't want to have to get another PC to stick next to my TV downstairs.

Here is a BeyondTV biased comparison, and obviously assuming you don't have any add-ons/codecs installed into WMC, but still shows some of the benefits. For me it just wasnt worth the cost.

Basicly, FREE is outstanding, watching TV on my computer and then if possible sending it to my vibrant phone would be nice, as well as being able to record.
