media player wont play web wmv files anymore

Since i installed service pack 1 everything has been ok apart from one or two little programmes ive learned to do without.The only problem i have at the moment is more of a nuisance really.When surfing if i click on a wmv file media player will play the file with sound only and it runs a visualisation.If i want to see the video i have to download the file and play it using another media player.media player is fine apart from this as regards avi etc. Any one have a solution?

this hasnt helped.basically i play a wmv it opens WMP12 plays sound but no picture.Ive tried changing codecs but its still the same.

ok thought i had fixed this but WMP12 is now doing the same thing for other video such as avi.sound with no picture.

uncheck "Turn on DirectX Video Acceleration for WMV files" does nothing.

ok i uninstalled sharkeys codec and installed Klite now WMP12 is playing avi again.still problem with wmv file.

ok when you click on plugins wmp12 is there supposed to be any show up?

cmd says it succeeded what now ============ still no picture om wmv file

Google chrome but its the same under explorer .
