    netflix stopped working

windows 7 home premium running MCE.

netflix just stopped working. i'm not seeing any web-wide issues like the silverlight issue in january. so, i'm thinking it may just be me????

this was working 2 days ago (last time i tried to play a title).

i'm logged in to netflix, name in the upper right, my ques, etc. but, when i attempt to stream a title, just before i'd normally see the blue silverlight spinner, i'm met with the red member sign in screen i usually see in a web browser. the mouse will let me select the empty login fields. my keyboard will not enter text in to the fields to attempt re-login, and none of the hyperlinks are clickable (what's this, member 'click here', or need help 'click here'). i can click 'continue' but it informs me the info i entered does not match.

only way out of this screen is the MCE back button.

    any advice?

I have seen Silverlight issues mess up Netflix. Try updating it. If that doesn't work then see if you can uninstall/reinstall it. :)

i've been messing with it pretty well non-stop since i made this post.

i recalled that i set firefox to private browsing a couple of days ago. that about coincides with the break. i logged in to netflix via firefox and i got an application storage error when trying to stream content. following the on-screen instructions provided no relief. but, disabling private browsing; and relaunching firefox re-enabled netflix via browser.

i was hopeful this fix would fix MCE as well, but it did not. i tried logging out of the netflix app and back in; restarted the computer. but, still no dice.

i'm reluctant to reinstall silverlight as it's working in firefox. i'll save that as a very last resort.
