NEW media center solutions all versions I am new here--I have what I view as important information for you.
I have worked w/ techs from all over the world to generate these REAL solutions--they might not solve ALL of your problems but WILL solve some.
BEFORE you do anything--verify the correct computer time & time zone. In ALL cases if time or time zone was incorrect--re-install media center.
Media center fails to recognize your set-top box or remote.
After attempting a manual set-up w/ all possible codes & failure--exchange your set-top box w/ cable company for a different model as media center does not have all the codes within it--if not--borrow one--you will see
Verify the correct computer time and time zone
Media center fails to recocnize your IR cable sensor
Unplug & re_plug the cable. Relocate the IR sensor over the IR receiver on set-top box---use a bright flashlight to locate the sensor
Media center fails to download the correct channel guide
Verify the computer time & time zone. Re-install media center. Verify w/ cable company that you are slecting the correct guide download for your location. Verify w/ your cable company which guide you are viewing on your TV by having them tell you on the phone what program you are & should be viewing--careful--they make mistakes. Try reinstalling media center & selecting a different guide than you think is correct.
Media center fails to switch channels automatically to record TV on different channels
Verify the correct computer time & time zone then re-install media center
Media center channel guide download options
Essentially, there are no options--automatic or manual--you cannot change what you selected in the set-up w/ out starting the set-up fresh
Re-set media center guide download to different guide
1st--verify computer clock is set to correct time zone & time--completely re-install media center
This is NOT possible--the ONLY way to accomplish this is to re-install or reset media center--go to settings, tv & start from scratch
1st--verify computer clock is set to correct time zone & time--completely re-install media center

Comments like that aren't necessary, if you have the time to write out posts like you did above, why can't you explain further?
What does your original post fix? Explaining that might get you the feedback you are seeking. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq sr5410f case OS Windows 7 Pro 64 SP1 CPU AMD X2 4450E @ 2.3 ghz Motherboard Biostar MCP6P M2+ Memory 4.0 g Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT , 512mb Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays auria eq2367 Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard logitech wave cordless Mouse logitech LX8 cordless laser mouse PSU 250 watts Case Compaq Cooling couple fans Hard Drives 1 tb Hitachi HDT721010SLA scsi, 500 gb external Internet Speed comcast hi speed 19 dn 8 up Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Browser IE10 Other Info Laptop specs: HP g7-1365dx /

I don't even get a thank you for presenting these fixes--some of you people are SORRY!! A general run of the problems and fixes as enunciated by you - whether these will resolve the problem or not - is going to be lost in the wilderness in the sense no one who has read your post is likely to recall and refer to it as if it were a bible on Media Center problems.
The best course open to you will be to suggest any fixes as and when users come out with the problems.
You may then refer them to your above post if you think that may resolve the problem.
A comment like "You do not understand how the media center works" is certainly despicable. ( I do not become small if i do not understand how media center works. Neither do I become God Almighty if I know 100% how it works. ) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self-assembled OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit CPU AMD Phenom II X3 720 Processor Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H Revision 1.0 Memory Transcend DDR2 (PC2 6400) 4 X 1GB Graphics Card Integrated + ATI Radeon 4550 Sound Card Integrated Realtek ALC 889A Monitor(s) Displays DELL 1704 FPT Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024 Keyboard Microsoft - wired Mouse Microsoft - wired PSU Coolermaster 400 W Case Zebronics Cube Cooling stock Hard Drives Western Digital Caviar SE16 250 GB x2 in RAID 0 Internet Speed ADSL 256-512Kbps |
