Media Center not recording

I have added the library for recorded tv and verified that the scheduler service is running. When I select a show for recording, it seems to accept it and shows the red dot in the guide, but when the show time begins - it doesn't record

very strange - any ideas on how to debug?

Record worked before the recording drive failed and had to be replaced.

TIA

Hi itauditor,

The following link may give you some insight into why this happened.
Why didn't my TV show record in Windows Media Center?

I also found two people with similar problems on Microsoft answers. Try the fixes reccomended in the solutions.

That reminds me, was there an error code?

Hope this helps,
Jaidyn

no error code was presented by Media Center.

I looked at these links and verified everything. The guide is current, no conflicts, the channel was active, etc. Still nothing.

Sorry, but I can't find much else. If there's no error code, it's unfortunately a lot harder to diagnose the problem. All I can do at the moment (until I find a fix), is direct you to Microsoft Support.
Microsoft Support
Down the bottom of the page there should be an E-mail and Phone option. They should be able to help you out.

Once again, I apologise...

Media Center HD recording issue
Media center records fine except on HD channels where I think the data rate overwhelms the system. Unfortunately media center defaults to recording HD if it can. Is there anywhere to globally change all recordings to to SD rather than HD ?
