WMP 12 - MKV Playback Problem

For some reason when I'm about to play a MKV movie in WMP it freezes like 20 seconds into the movie. The audio keeps going but WMP video output just freezes. It also happens when I would right click DirectVobSub filter on the bottom right in the taskbar to remove the subtitles. I've downloaded shark007 codec pack left with installation defaults. Can any of you help me troubleshoot this problem? Thanks.

Is your opersting system 64bit? If so, did you install the x64Components?

Try this: On the righthand side of the H264 TAB, set 'Use FFDshow's codec'

If you need further asistance, bring it to the Shark007 forum.

Yeah I'm on a 64bit platform. I did install the x64 components along side of the 32 bit installation. That 'Use FFDshow's codec' fixed it, thank you very much. I love the simplicity of your codec pack along with how it doesn't configure windows native codecs. Have a good one.

Yeah I knew VLC's installed codec's would of probably played the video file, but I just like to use software that comes with Windows instead of third party applications.
