WMP12 Cover Art Hi
I've got a Win 7 x64 OS with obviously WMP12
The problem is the cover arts are not working.
Theres the default cover art image and it wont change through the update/find album info and since I cant find the advanced tag edit I cant change it manually.
I did a fresh rip of one of my CDs just to make sure everything is the microsoft way and it still wont work.
Any ideas? | My System Specs |

Hi, IronHalik, and welcome to the forums.
have you tried navigating to the folder containing the media and deleting any hidden .XML files and then seeing if it can recreate the info it needs?
Also, is it possible it is reading the cover art from the tags directly? Are you talking cover art for music or video? | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number The Beast Model V OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Core i7 965 EE @3.6 GHz Motherboard eVGA x58 Classified3 Memory 3 * 4GB Mushkin Enh Redline CL7 DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3-12800) Graphics Card eVGA 560 Ti 448 Core Classified + eVGA GTX260 SSC (PhysX) Sound Card Realtek HD Audio (on-board) Monitor(s) Displays 2 * Acer X213Wbd Screen Resolution 2 * 1680 x 1050 Keyboard Logitech G15 Keyboard Mouse Logitech Performance Mouse MX PSU ThermalTake BlackWidow TX TR2 850 W Case ThermalTake Level 10 GT (Black) Cooling Corsair H100 CPU | 2 * TT 140mm TriLED | 2 * Antec TriCool Hard Drives 1 * Intel Cheryville 520 180 GB SATA III SSD |

Whoa, quick reply. :>
Checked the folder and any subfolders for hidden .xml files (if you ask, I have enabled the show hidden files option :>) and nothing there.
Also the audio files were ripped from orginal Louis Amstrong CD by WMP so the taggin and stuff should be ok.

Any ideas? The short answer is that it doesn't work. Not reliably at least. It will pull some art seemingly randomly about 10% of the time. There are a few things to make sure of to get the best behavior: 1) make sure to get build 7000 (latest) and the patch for mp3s (search this forum for "patch leaked") 2) make sure all your mp3s use ONLY IDv2.3 tags and not IDv1 or both -- mp3tag Mp3tag - Download can help with that 3) for those albums for which WMP12 simply refuses to apply album art right click the album and select Find Album Information, locate the correct album and click the "More..." link under the album. You might need to click the search button if WMP12 thinks it's found the album outright. A browser window will open allowing you to right click the album art copy the image. Close the browser and the Find window and right click the empty album art image for the album and select paste. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number baarod/MCP OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit CPU Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.6GHz 9x400FSB Motherboard Gigabyte G33M-S2H Memory 4GB DDR2 1066 Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4670 Sound Card Integrated Azalia Monitor(s) Displays Acer AL1711 Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Lasr Mouse 5000 PSU 240W TFX Case InWin BT566 Cooling Intel Retail Stock Hard Drives OCZ Vertex SATAII w/ 1.5FW 30,528MB system and apps

Thanks for jumping in baarod - coincidentally, I was going to suggest that as well, after I knew for a fact we were talking about embedded album art in MP3s.
I used to use ID3-TagIt, but Michael stopped development, and I have found MP3 Tag to be the most suitable replacement.
Another fine example of multiple users helping out on the board. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number The Beast Model V OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Core i7 965 EE @3.6 GHz Motherboard eVGA x58 Classified3 Memory 3 * 4GB Mushkin Enh Redline CL7 DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3-12800) Graphics Card eVGA 560 Ti 448 Core Classified + eVGA GTX260 SSC (PhysX) Sound Card Realtek HD Audio (on-board) Monitor(s) Displays 2 * Acer X213Wbd Screen Resolution 2 * 1680 x 1050 Keyboard Logitech G15 Keyboard Mouse Logitech Performance Mouse MX PSU ThermalTake BlackWidow TX TR2 850 W Case ThermalTake Level 10 GT (Black) Cooling Corsair H100 CPU | 2 * TT 140mm TriLED | 2 * Antec TriCool Hard Drives 1 * Intel Cheryville 520 180 GB SATA III SSD |

Some attributes are stored only in the tags on the files, some only in the WMP library database and some in both places. Barrod very useful post about only using IDv2.3 tags, now WMP can find my music very quickly, I had issues before, maybe because I used both IDv1 & IDv2.3tags. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Built OS Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) CPU Intel I5 2500K 3.3Ghz Stock Motherboard Asus P8H 61-M LE USB 3 Memory 8Gig Kingston DDRIII HyperX Blue 1333 Mhz Graphics Card Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 460 OC Sound Card Creative Fatality Pro Monitor(s) Displays 27" BENQ LED Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard Some Logitech type.
