Windows 7: Prevent windows/WMC releasing TV guide from memory

Prevent windows/WMC releasing TV guide from memory

When I run WMC on a dedicated HTPC machine it takes 60-90 seconds to load up the TV guide when requested. After that it is instant. The TV guide has many channels and there are 14 days of data.

I don't mind this given the amount of data being processed but I am finding that after watching for a period of time, especially > 1 hr that the guide has been released from memory and when requested, takes 60-90 seconds again.

Is there any way to prevent this and retain the guide in memory? Any standard Set Top TV Box would do this, but I fear windows is designed to do a constant clean-up so that it is 'ready for anything' (I will only use it for media center TV).

Having extra ram doesn't seem to help

Any advice?
