What is the best setting for shark007 codecs?

I'm almost ready with my new HTPC. This would be my first. Can somebody advise the best setting for my set up? I heard shark007 codec is the best.

    OS: Windows 7 x64
Display: Pioneer Kuro KRP600M via HDMI (Kimbercable HD29)
    Board: Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3
    Processor: Intel Core i5-2400
Video Card: Inno3d Nvidia GTX 550
    Memory: 2 x 4G = 8G
    MCE Remote: Mediagate MG-IRO2BK
    Keyboard: Logitech Dinovo mini
    Blu ray Drive: Lite-on iHBS212
    AVR: Yamaha DSP A1

The system will be used exclusively for video. I would prefer the video card does all the transcoding.

    thanks in advance

Be sure to install current versions of both the Win7codecs and the x64Components addon. Open the 32bit settings app as an administrator, and close it. This action detects system settings and makes some adjustments accordingly.

open the 64bit app as an administrator and set 'LAV cuvid Nvidia only' as your H264 decoder since you have an Nvidia graphics adapter. Then on the Help TAB, use the button to associate filetypes to the Windows players.

For proper audio setup, I suggest you read THIS POST on my forum. For further assistance, I suggest you 1st search my forum and if need be, post for help on my forum.

Well, youll want to use hardware accleration or DXVA for the GPU to render/enhance the image.

The actualy codec will be a bit of personal opinion. FFDShowDXVA, LAV, DIVX, PD11 etc.

I just use FFDShow for everything myself, and MS/Haali splitters.

But I suppose alot will depends on what looks best to you, your needs, as well as what type of files you are playing and in what player.
