WMC kicks on when quiting certain application

When I close a video game, currently Guild Wars, WMC kicks on after i quit the game and I'm really puzzled as to why.

I have other video games but I'm not currently playing them on W7 so not sure if its just the one game or others do this. The only other game I have had installed does not do this. I just find it puzzling WMC decides it needs to load when i close that one game..

Could it be that it is trying to play a video when you kill it?

Do you have any addins installed that would monitor for closing apps? A launcher type application?

Have you tried re-installing Guild Wars to see if it still occurs? Are you using any type of No-CD patch for GW, or else any sort of trainer / crack for it? Other than those, I have no idea why WMC keeps starting up like that....

No, I have no no-cd patch or anything, I have a legit account with GW which is an online MMORPG. I have tried reinstalling it but same.. Its just weird I was just curious if anyone else had this problem I guess not so far :)

Nope - so I think it might be a combination of things.

have you modified your WMC in any way? What other apps are you running? What about while playing GW, anything else running that you can stop (such as IMs, background services, etc)?

I think that GW is trying to load *something* and that something is somehow associated with WMC - hence WMC loads.

Unfortunately, I don't have GW nor an account to play so I cannot verify this - hopefully someone else with the game can verify if something can be set to load on exit.

No I did not modify WMC in any way.. the only thing i did was adjust the quality of recordings but that was it really..

Guild wars has a client download you can download at guildwars.com even if you don't have an account but takes a long while to download all the content.

The only thing running in the background is antivirus and cpu monitor but nothing out of the ordinary.. it's probably just some fluke.. idk

Is your AV set to ignore the GW directory?
