WMC suggests the wrong TV guide parameters.

I don'tT have TV cable and I am interested by the TV guide. It worked all fine in analog mode until we Canadians adopted the digital air signal as in the US.

Since then, for my Canadian postal code, WMC gives me a limited choice. All [wrongly] analog. I tried H8N 2H1 and J7G 4K1. There is no digital channel associated to these.

If I use a US zip code, it will suggest digital channels.

There must be a wrong database somewhere. Any suggestion?

Do you have a TV card or you just interested in the guide by itself?

I'm not sure where MS gets it's listings but you can try the one below. It seems to be one of the best maintained and used by many of TV card mfgs.

Yes we have Hauppage TV tuners on 2 of our 3 home computers.

The feature I am looking for is to be able to program a recording directly in the WMC TV guide without having to set the hour of beginning and the lenght. Just pick and record. It was working so nicely before.

It's been a while since I setup my Hauppauge TV-HVR-2250 with WMC but as I recall you can set the zone and/or manually sellect stations. In the US, all OTA broadcasts have been digital since June, 2009 so I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you saying your TV card won't pickup digital chanels? Might be time to upgrade.

This is for Canada. Digital over the air is new to us, since September 1st, 2011.

Digital signal is recognized by by my TV tuner & Win TV 7 and I can record TV shows.

The problem is really with WMC. I can't have it working with a digital channel, even set up manually.

Again, going through the wizard with my postal code, it doesn't offer me the possibility to manually select antenna and digital, only antenna and analog. If I chose cable, then I will get my TV guide back but everything is analog.

It is like if their database (Microsoft or Zap2it.com or ...) was not updated.

I don't recall the actual options on mine but isn't there an ATSC option? That would be digital via an antenna. I thought it would scan for available channels. The guide is loaded later. Otherwise, I guess you'd have to take it up with Microsoft.

I was poking around and it appears Windows Media Center does not support ATSC in Canada. At least not yet.

    I did find this though.

This seems to be the solution. The executable file allowed WMC to FINALLY recognize the TV tuner in digital mode.

    txs!

Another solution I found is to use a ZIP code close to our borders... easier.

Okay, thanks for following up. I thought you tried that and ruled against it.

If it works, run with it.
