Windows 7: How to open *.mkv files in windows media centre

hello
i upgraded to Windows 7 x64 few days ago
now in windows media center when i try to open *.mkv files it gives following error see in the screen shot
but when i have Windows 7 x86 the *.mkv files are working well in windows media center
any idea or should i require additional plugins
and other videos present in that same folder are playing except *.mkv files

What codecs are inside the MKV?

If it contains formats supported by Windows 7 natively, For example H264, AC3, etc, you only need Haali Media Splitter.


Are you using any codecs packages at all?



Also, that message seems to indicate you are accessing a library that no longer exists.
Make sure the Windows 7 librarys are setup correctly.
