How can I stream files to another room in the house?

I'd like to buy a device that will (wirelessly) stream content to my bedroom. Here is what I currently have setup:

In my living room, I have a dedicated media PC with Windows 7 Ultimate. On that PC I download the TV shows and movies I want to watch. Typical format is mkv and maybe some avi.

I would like to be able to watch some of these shows in my bedroom as well. The layout across the house does not allow for a hard-wired setup; it is completely out of the question. Is there a device that I can setup in my bedroom that will allow me to wirelessly stream these files?

I'm looking for something a bit more specific than articles I might find by Googling.

Are there any members currently doing what I am looking to do? If so, what are your experiences? What would you do differently? What device have you found that works well? What would you suggest?

Obviously I could just build another media machine for the bedroom but that's exacftly the sort of cost and complication I'm looking to avoid. Will a Boxee type machine accomplish this?

This tutorial by Brink may or may not help you, but I'll post the link anyway.

*sigh* Nevermind. I'm going to go to the XBMC forums and have discussion over there.
