Windows Media Player 12 - No video when playing AVCHD files

Forum Members,

I'm having trouble playing AVCHD files from my camcorder that I used to be able to play with no problem.

So the problem is that the files will play but with no video. As I stated before they used to play with no problem but now only the audio plays and no video. The only difference in my computer is that I updated my NVIDIA graphics drivers.

Even when I convert the files from AVCHD to WMV they won't play properly (no video). DxDiag file attached.

Any ideas?

Appreciate the help guys/gals.

If you have any insight into the above question, do you also know how to get WMP 12 to play .mpg (MPEG) files - both audio and video together?

Radeon Catalist software adn drivers

After months of living without Media Player I just received an automatic update of AMD Catalist software for windows 7. This update fixed my Media Player Sound but no video problem.
I have an ATI Radeon HD 5700 video card and the catalist software is for this card.

If you install the Win7codecs, selecting the [x] SUGGESTED settings checkbox will allow ALL M2TS files to playback properly.
If you have a 64bit Operating System and want to play these files in Media Center, you will also need to install the x64Components addon
