Having the same issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin to no avail. Have not tried to change Silverlight yet.

    Mats

I'm seeing word on the Microsoft forums, that uninstalling Silverlight using the MATS (Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Service) is what actually fixes this (and then upgrade to Silverlight 5).

The posters say that a simple uninstall doesn't fix it, the MATS needs to be used. I don't know what this is (and not at computer to try) but will do it tonight.

Afterward, I will test this over the next week and report progress, as the problem is too intermittent to know for sure in one day.

Yesterday I turned off Microsoft Security Essentials in fear that that was causing the error. If only one single Microsoft developer would read these posts and review it from an application/developer perspective. I feel we're all shooting in the dark.

I found that this is reported in the following other forums. Some have reported temporary success updating to Silverlight 5. Reportedly it's been officially released (not as a release candidate) in the past few days. The first link appears to have the most useful reports of people believing they've fixed the problem with a Silverlight update.

Just opened a new Microsoft Case #: 1169649153

I watched the Microsoft Support representative, he:

    1. Verified I had upgraded to Silverlight 5
    2. Opened Silverlight from Start Menu, went to Application Storage, clicked Delete All
    3. Navigated to C:\Users\MediaCenter\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\Silverlight, deleted the "is" folder.

The case is still open and I was instructed to call back if problem persist.

I have had this problem for a couple months now. I will track this thread in hope we find a solution.

The fixes Microsoft provided did not work (big surprise).

    I have to call again.

Installed Silverlight 5. No change. I am glad MC has a Netflix plugin, but I wish either MS or Netflix would support it.

    Hi all,
New here but I have been researching this for a few months, and something about this kept saying "settings" to me so:

Not sure if it will work for anyone else, but I was having this problem on my Win 7 professional 64 bit machine. The fix for me seems to be adding http://www.netflix.com to IE trusted sites.

Just for the sake of being exact, my entry in trusted sites does not include the http:// part of the url that my original post shows. The forum software added that.
