Windows 7: WMC freezes at end of Netflix episodes

This worked for me also. Make sure you uncheck the "Require server verification (https: ) for all sites in this zone" box when entering the www.netflix.com. If you try to use the secure http address it doesn't fix it.

I am having this same issue. I have tried updating Silverlight, uninstalling and re-installing Silverlight and now adding the site to trusted sites as Brian O suggested and none have fixed the problem. It doesn't freeze at the end of every show just some of them. I really wish there was an alternative to this plugin especially since neither side wants to take any responsibility and support it.

Yes, it seems to have been an intermittent fix for me as well. Some shows now work that did not used to and some still freeze

Found it. .... That is my 7 month problem of NetFlix freezing at the conclusion of a movie is finally over.

I am mad that I did not think of it before, but it was a 3rd party Codec that was causing my problem.

I had VLC loaded, a very good Codec but Netflix / WMC does not seem to like it.

I thought that SilverLight was the codec but nope. Give it a try. Try Removing your 3rd party Codec package (VLC or FFSHOW) and post back if it works for you.

Hi Guys. Just joined....I have had this problem for months. Just done a complete recovery to try and correct...just Windows Updates and nothing else, and still getting lockup. I have not install Silverlight 5 as it did not work last time...Just wish these large companies would talk to one another.....Hopefully someone, somewhere has the answer. It seems that I research this problem 3 or 4 times a week. One site I went to today suggested that MSE might have an influence on netflix issues. I am seriously considering installing Windows 7 only (no HP or other manufacturers software, except TV tuners and Video card requirements). All "we" want here is a stable platform for watching TV...

Same problems here. I haven't tried any of the suggested fixes yet, but I have had the same issues with it hanging at the end of the show.

...As an update. I installed Silverlight 5 a few days ago and (fingersX) I have not had any lockups....But please netflix and ms....TALK!
