How do I create a playlist from a group of files in a folder ??

I have a group of MP3 files in a folder (MyBestMusic) and want to create a playlist (same name) to play them as a named group (playlist). How do I do this ?? I am totally new to Windows, my daughter in law gave me this computer, I'm 63.

Assume there are 100 songs in the folder.

If you simply want to play all 100, one after another, possibly in random order, you shouldn't need a playlist.

Playlists are usually used when you want to play only a subset of the available songs. For instance, if half of the 100 were Sinatra and the other half Presley, you might make a Sinatra playlist so ONLY Sinatra songs would play.

How you make a playlist varies from player to player. I don't use Windows built-in player and can't help you directly, but look here:

Hi, welcome to the forums

You can do this by 1 of 2 ways...

Option 1

If the files are in 1 folder you can highlight all the files then right-click 1 of them and select Add to Windows Media Player list. This will open up Media Player and play the files in sequence and you can then click the Unsaved List in the right pane and type the name you wish to give the list.

Option 2

If the files are in multiple folders then you can open up the general Music folder then type *.* into the search box (top right of the open explorer window), this will bring up all files. You can then you can highlight the files just as Option 1 explains.

Note   Note
You may need to click the 'Play' tab once Media Player opens

Hope it helps
