Windows 7 - Losing internet connection at end of extender setup

Hi.
I am using windows 7 pro 64bit and am trying to connect it to an xbox.

My set up is:
Xbox to Netgear vmdg280 connected by Ethernet
Netgear Vmdg280 connected to pc by tenda w322u v2.0 wireless usb and using windows wireless utlity to manage. Excellent signal strength.

I can get right to the end of setting up the extender but when the final connection is happening after building my library my wireless connection cuts out and both the xbox and pc give connection failure warnings. I then need to reset the router to make the wireless work again. The pc can detect the network but will not connect until reset (same as my phone).


I have tried all of the firewall fixes and have been looking around the net for about 5 hours trying to fix this issue. I have not even seen this issue.

Hope its something basic i have just over looked. Probably not though. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
