Comcast STB (HDDVR) with dual m780 tuners

I'm wondering how I would setup a Comcast HD DVR Set top box with my windows 7 htpc and 2 avermedia m780 tuners.

I just run the main line into the cable box, then another line from the cable box into a 2-way splitter and then one line each from the splitter to the digital connectors on the tuners.

Before the STB, I was able to receive about 15 clear QAM channels with 1 tuner and a bunch of analog channels.

Now I want all digital with a dual tuner setup.

With the cable box I'll have a few hundred or so clear QAM channels (unencrypted) correct?

Just want to make sure before I start on the project. Thanks for any help.

    Edit:

How do I go about controlling the STB through 7MC? How does that work with the 2 tuners in the STB and the 2 tuners I'll have in the HTPC?

    Thanks again.

    Welcome Nate,

Not to scare you away, but this kind of specialist info you might easier find on hack7mc.com/ or even MEDIAPORTAL - free media center - Home

These are sites dedicated to everything to do with HTPC.

Not that no one in here would be able to help, but just giving you more horses to bet on.

    Good luck,
