    flogit,

When I click on "Pictures + Videos" in media center, my pictures are already listed there. Where are the pictures you want located? It should at least list the "sample pictures" that come with the computer.
Do you have a folder of pictures located on your computer? Go into media center>tasks>settings
Click media libraries, then on pictures. Click "add folders..." and continue the wizard.

Did you disable any services in the past?

Hello Flogit. It is highly likely that you haven't downloaded all of the updates for media center and other windows updates. Please check for updates, and install all of them. If you've hidden any updates, please restore and download them. There are few updates that you might not actually need, but unless you are sure which they are, please install all of them. After, try media center agan

Here are some threads I've found on the issue, have a look and let me know how it goes: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...0-0b25794ad6a7

YOu might attempt to repair your computer. It will reset all settings, but may be worth it (it will keep all programs): Repair Install - created by Brink

Failing that, I am not sure what the problem is. o.0

Hi,its been a long time since the last time that we tried to solve the windows media centre picture problem.
Well last night a pal of mine sent me an email with a suggestion of a fix.
    here it is,and it worked.
Run REGEDIT from the Start/Run dialog.*
Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, scroll down to JPG and JPEG entries.*
Click on JPG or JPEG entry - on the right should be an entry for*
    PerceivedType.*
    That entry should say "image".*
If it's not there, add it by right-clicking on JPG or JPEG and selecting*
    New/String Value.*
    Enter "PerceivedType", then press Enter.*
Double-click on PerceivedType, then in the dialog enter "image".*

Make sure you check both JPG and JPEG - you may need to fix both.

    Easy words
Click Start Menu-Run, Type Regedit, under the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
scroll till you find the key named*
    .jpeg and also .jpg
click the key, you will see on your left*
    Content Type and Percieved Type
    make sure Content Type says*Image/Jpeg
    make sure Percieved Type says*Image
if they say something else double click them and change them to the correct values
if values don't exist click Edit at top of Regedit, choose New-String Value
name them correctly and enter the values

    This may help others.

thanks for the update ,i was wondering as i read this thread if re installing wmc would have helped.

taken from captain jack sparrows tutorial...

    6. Lets reinstall Windows Media Player 12

    7. Click “Start” button, type “windows features” in the program search box and hit enter.

    8. In the “Windows Features” dialog box, look for “Media Features” and expand it.

    9. Clear “Windows Media Player” check box.

    10. As soon as you clear the check box, you will see a pop-up saying that “The following Windows features will also be turned off because they are dependent on Windows Media Player.” The listed program is “Windows Media Center”.

    11. Go ahead and click “Yes”. Windows will now begin uninstalling WMP12.

    12. You to restart Windows for the uninstallation to complete.

    13. Click “Start” button, type “windows features” in the program search box and hit enter.

    14. In the “Windows Features” dialog box, look for “Media Features” and expand it.

    15. Check boxes “Windows Media Player” and “Windows Media Center”.

    16. Click “OK”. Windows will take some time in reinstalling them. Wait for the process to finish.

    17. You to restart Windows for the installation to complete.

yeah i understood the prob was with wmc and not wmp, but uninstalling either of them uninstalls the other by default, hence the steps for wmp, as i couldnt find steps that specifically mentioned wmc.
