Windows 7: Is there an app to make taskbar disappear fully when launching WMC?

I was at a friend's house who uses the open-source MediaPortal and I noticed how there was an option in the settings where you could make the taskbar disappear upon opening the program.
This would be really nice for me because I have MediaBrowser installed in WMC and whenever I launch an external app for DVD/Blu-ray images I get the taskbar flickering at the bottom at opening and close. Gets annoying after awhile.
I don't want to have to auto-hide taskbar as I like it locked in place the rest of the time. So is there maybe an program that can hide the taskbar upon opening WMC, then restore it when I close WMC?
